Craster’s main activities in the sugar industry revolve around the refurbishment of 66” to 84” sugar mill rolls and associated aspects of production. In this regard, Craster has done sugar mill roll work for Triangle and Hippo Valley Estates in Zimbabwe, Nakambala Sugar Estates in Zambia, Sucoma in Malawi, Tanzania Plantation Company and Kilombero Sugar Estate in Tanzania and Acucareira de Mocambique in Mozambique. The work performed for all these companies over the years include:
  • the manufacture of new rolls and refurbishment of old ones
  • refurbishment and fitting of shafts
  • manufacture of sugar roll bearings with bronze, white metal or steel
    housing and bronze inserts
  • stress relieving of built up journals.
  • manufacture, groove and machine sugar roll SHELLS
